Creating perfect lips, one might even call it an art. Our lip enhancement treatments are very popular and ideal for anybody seeking fuller lips. With careful and skilled use of injectable lip fillers our practitioners can give you defined, balanced and symmetrical lips that enhance your natural beauty and make you feel great.
Summary of Treatment
Lip fillers are essentially dermal fillers, that are injected into the lips to define the lip borders and/or create a fuller, plumped-out effect. The results are tailored to suit the client, using more or less filler as appropriate to create a look that can range from the subtle to the more dramatic.
Dermal fillers are gels made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin, which means that dermal fillers have a natural affinity with skin tissue and, following treatment, break down naturally over time. Lip filler treatments are also reversible.
At Lux Aesthetics, we place results and safety at the top of our list of priorities, so we only use leading fillers such as Juvederm®, Restylane ® and Belotero®. Some of these products have anaesthetic properties built in.
Lip fillers are used to define the lip borders and/or make the lips look fuller. Therefore, they appeal particularly to clients who have naturally thin lips, or whose lips have become thinner over time.
Lip fillers can also provide general cosmetic benefits. For example, they are often used to remove lines and folds around the mouth, such as those caused by smoking.
Depending on the results you seek, the practitioner will inject small amounts of filler into the body of the lip, or the lip borders. Treatment takes around 30 minutes and the results are immediately visible.
Lip filler injections can make your lips look more defined, and/or fuller, depending on your preferences and the treatment agreed with the practitioner. The results are tailored to suit you, using more or less filler as appropriate to create a look that can range from the subtle to the more dramatic. Results usually last for around 9 months.
As with most treatments, there is a risk of side effects. However, these are generally mild and temporary. Most common being redness, swelling and tenderness after treatment, and this may last between 6 and 10 days.
You should not have this treatment if:
· You have severe allergies
· You are pregnant or breastfeeding
We recommend that for 6 hours after treatment to take care around the filled lip area and avoid any unnecessary touching or pressure.
Most clients tolerate Lip Filler treatment very well, but if you do experience any discomfort it is perfectly okay for you to take ordinary painkillers.
Please note: Clients seeking injectable treatments, including Lip Fillers, must attend a face-to-face consultation with one of our medical practitioners. This is to allow the practitioner to conduct a full and personalised assessment, and to discuss in full all side effects and contraindications.
